Summary:
The Clinical lnformaticist will focus on the management, maintenance, modeling, extraction and analysis of clinical data to support research and applications. Specific duties include management, administration, quality control and analysis of clinical datasets, and the development of complex queries and algorithms to produce analytical datasets. Key responsibilities include working with a team of IT professionals to perform data extraction, transformation, ingestion and analysis from multiple health system partners, structure data and develop specialized queries, algorithms and views to access, mine and enhance the clinical datasets and participate in the development and maintenance of applications that utilize the clinical datasets.
Required experience criteria:
Clinical experience working with patients as a licensed practitioner (e.g., MD, RN, LVN), or as a Quality
Improvement leader in a healthcare setting
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare informatics and data models particularly unstructured data and text data mining
Experience with Quality Improvement initiatives, models, simulations, studies, and measurements
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Clinical Decision Support domain, its technologies, knowledge artifact management, and workflow integration
Experience leading or serving in a facilitator/coordinator role on a clinical, functional and/or technical team
Strong writing and communications skills
Strong public speaking skills
Knowledge of relational and non-relational data structures
Bachelor''s degree from accredited school in a health care discipline (i.e. RN, OT, PT) or equivalent clinical
informatics experience
Current NYS license to practice in respective healthcare field if applicable
Nice to have experience criteria:
Strong preference for experience using Linquamatics or Natural Language Processing tools in a healthcare context
Masters degree in informatics or healthcare discipline preferred
Certification in Informatics desired
Project Management training and experience
Two or more years working in clinical informatics providing a leadership role implementing and supporting healthcare clinical systems
Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional teams
Leading a team of applications developers and business analysts
