BA for Application Development

Look for someone who had some development work or QA work in the past. - They need a strong understanding of SDLC.


Location: Northbrook, Illinois
Duration: 6 months contract to hire
Interview: phone and face to face
Must Be: Local to Northbrook, GC or USC

The applicant will be a highly motivated individual who works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The Application Functional Analyst role is technical and functional role which involves working with the business and IT teams to analyze, design and develop the necessary functional requirements, configuration of the various tools, integrations, reporting and perform the small-medium scale application developments using the readymade frameworks/configurable tools to support organizational and system process improvements. Participates in system requirement and design walk-through sessions. The candidate must have strong analytical, troubleshooting skills. Performs research if necessary to answer questions and resolve issues. Stays current with existing and emerging technologies, changes and updates.



Duties & Responsibilities:

Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements and act as a liaison between Business and IT personnel
Performs application, process, and data analysis for the planning and scheduling activities as required for the project
Assists with design, development, configuration, testing (UAT & QA coordination), and deployment of on-premise and SaaS/Cloud-based products, applications, and solutions
Work on the workflow Configuration, reporting and user access provisioning for various applications e.g. DocuSign, Smart Sheet, Box, Tymetrix, Workday and future SaaS applications
Work with Security Administrator to configure security within various applications e.g. workday
Communicate effectively with internal functional and development teams to deliver product
Work with the Project Manager and document relevant procedures, issues, defects, schedule etc.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Analysis, documenting requirements, writing functional specifications, use cases, and user stories
Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT development, software configuration role
Minimum 2 year experience with web based technologies using programing languages like C#, Java, SQL Server
Hands on experience and proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite, Access , Microsoft Visio and Agile development method
Experience with project implementation and solution engineering
Experience with web application quality assurance testing
Experience with .NET, Sharepoint is a plus
Working experience with reporting tools like Qlikview, Tableau, SSRS, Excel is plus
