PROJECT MANAGER – INFRASTRUCTURE
Data Center Management Consultant
Manages and coordinates all infrastructure operations & projects to meet client needs. Ensures that’s the standards and procedures are followed during design and implementation of information systems. Responsible for monitoring the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance.
Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery of services and support by our data center service provider. This includes day-to-day operations oversight and management of all operational aspects of our data center.
Manage vendor relations ensuring optimal service and cost efficiency.
Oversee 100% of the requests, incidents and problems. Manages and coordinates urgent and complicated support issues. Act as escalation point for all requests and incidents.
Determine root cause of issues and communicate appropriately to internal and external customers. Lead service incidents lessons learned discussions and develop strategies for improvement. Monitor and manage service incident ticket queue (participating in escalated calls as needed)
Provide data and reporting of KPI’s and trends to Sr. Manager Infrastructure & Operations and others key stakeholders in ad-hoc, daily, weekly, monthly and as needed.
Take ownership and accountability to drive quicker recovery and restore time, cross-functional collaboration across teams during major incidents, improved visibility, monitoring, and alerting. Manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization
Manage multiple, large-scale projects including data center upgrades and data center strategies. Work cross-functionally with multiple operations and infrastructure teams to ensure scope, cost, risk and timelines are effectively managed and project goals are met.

Extensive knowledge of data center operations, IT Security, telecommunications, network engineering, data center applications, mainframe/client/server computing, and production operations support.

Demonstrated critical thinking and planning at a strategic, global level. Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute project plans to achieve objectives.
Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Persuasive, professional communication style. Capable of communicating complex, technical topics to a wide variety of audiences. Ability t! o interac! t with senior management and influence decision makers
Willingness to travel and work nonstandard hours when necessary
Educational & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in management or information technology, or equivalent experience
15+ years working in data center environment.
5+ years managing technical teams.
Advanced knowledge required across multiple technology stacks (WAN & LAN, Firewalls, Wintel/Virtualization/Unix/Linux/Mainframe/Middl eware/SDN/Databases, )
Experience working within an ITIL framework preferred
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley audits
Technical datacenter certifications preferred
