Position Description:

Key Skills Needed: Project Manager focused on airline crew systems or flight operations systems, Agile, SDLC,

Rate Inclusive on C2C: US$ 40/hr.

Salary When Hire: 55-60K AT WILL NO BENEFITS.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for the Operational Management System in a fast-paced environment. Applicants for this job posting will be leading a multi-departmental team encompassing IT, Dispatch, Crew, and Tech Ops project resources.


Job Specification

To qualify for this role, a minimum of 5 years work experience as a Project Manager focused on airline crew systems or flight operations systems is desired. In addition, qualified candidates should have a thorough understanding of SDLC (or DPaCE) or Agile project management methodologies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIIES
Depending on assignment, the successful candidate may be responsible for any or all of the following:
Function at the highest skill level in project management planning, scheduling, and controlling of project activities to meet objectives
Track performance, cost, and time goals while maintaining project scope
Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks
Coordinate activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
Track and resolve project issues
Responsible for creating and managing project budgets
Serves as the finance point of contact for projects
Work under minimal supervision
Technical expertise necessary to provide on-call support of resulting products as needed
Use business analysis techniques for gathering and documenting requirements, scoping, interviewing, facilitation, system component design, spend tracking, testing, and implementation
Interact with leadership to help set project direction and determine project prioritization
Work collaboratively with customer and user groups, technical leads, development resources, engineers and architects, and external project teams
Provide project status reports according to the information needs of the stakeholders including, at times, executive level staff

Knowledge
5 years of experience managing large IT software development projects using structured PM and System Development methodologies/practices with project planning tools
Thorough knowledge of IT project life cycles, particularly SDLC (or DPaCE)
Formal business analysis techniques
3+ years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
Broad experience in a variety of computing platforms (mainframe, client/server, etc
Certification in Project Management by a recognized project management organization (such as the Project Management Institute)
Strong experience gathering and documenting complex system requirements, technical specifications, and developing detailed system diagrams
Experience managing project financials is strongly preferred
Experience delivering mission-critical applications in a high-availability environment is preferred
Experience delivering in-house and commercial off-the-shelf applications is preferred
Broad understanding of crew operations or flight operations processes is preferred
PMP certification is a plus
Some travel domestically and internationally is required
