Our client, one of the largest distributors of natural gas in the northeast US, serving customers in NY, MA, and RI seeks an accomplished GIS Business Analyst.

Description:
The Business Analyst is a hands-on client facing and slightly technical position. This position entails a high level of responsibility.
Successful candidate will work as a liaison between IS and the US Gas user community.
This individual will serve as an IS Business Analyst on a high profile GIS (Geographic Information System) project impacting Client’s Gas Business Unit.
Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
Must be able and willing to collaborate in a team/cooperative environment as well as exercise independent judgment and initiative.
Requirements:
Four year college degree.
Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience on medium to large-scale projects or systems. Preferably experience with GIS applications such as Esri.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting the full life cycle development & configuration & testing of complex multi-tiered applications.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a lead analyst for large complex systems and coordinating problem resolution between internal/external resources while also managing client expectations and communications.
Demonstrated experience with GIS applications such as Esri’s ArcGIS desktop, Online, Server and/or ArcFM.
Demonstrated experience facilitating requirements sessions, creating detailed requirement specifications, business process re-engineering, business use cases, requirements management, test plans, and test cases.
Demonstrated experience coordinating and executing user accepting testing.
Demonstrated experience supporting software implementations, end user training and establishing post production support procedures.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and projects.
Strong working knowledge of SDLC practices and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to organize materials and make presentations in front of a group
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment
Experience developing and leading formal change management activities using models such as Prosci® ADKAR is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet multiple project deadlines. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
Extremely detail oriented and strong customer service focus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work with innovative solutions.
Prior experience in the utility industry is a plus.
