Technical Data Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Technical Analyst for our client in Piscataway, NJ


Job Summary:

The overall purpose of this position is to act as a Data Steward of our clients Publication Program. Responsible for inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of highlighting useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision making. Data analyst to manage multiple complex data sets and corresponding documentation, perform statistical analyses in support of research.


Document and analyze current process of data capture, generated and passed to external systems
Identify any inconsistencies and/or gaps in either the process or the data
Work with the MCE CRO team to develop and implement process changes to mitigate any gaps discovered
Work with the DBAs to bring all records in the database up to date
Work with the MCE Business Ops. team to create data quality reports to monitor the activity on an on-going basis
Work with IDAMS/Xplore teams as necessary
Creating a framework for other on-going monitoring activities
Performing various management analyses to ensure that we are meeting publication standards
Work to develop technology enhancements to meet publishing standards
Ensuring our data meets the current standards of the scholarly publication industry
Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking studies
Identify, research and recommend improvements to operational processes in support of our clients conference customers (organizers, attendees, sponsors, post-conference users, etc
Special projects and other duties as directed by Director, Customer Relations, Operations & Quality

The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for monitoring and preserving data integrity in support of our clients publication goals and aspirations so that our client can operate efficiently and provide quality service. Also, should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as, finding and correcting errors performing root cause analysis, leading projects, as well as utilize critical thinking skills to constantly improve processes.
Plays a major role in the following areas:
The role typically reports to a Director and manages 0 direct reports. This position works under the Director, Customer Relations, Operations & Quality.



Qualifications

Education and Experience:


Undergraduate degree relevant to core functions, such as data quality, management, auditing, accounting, or business administration preferred.
At least 8 Years of data quality related experience.
Publishing experience
Skills& Other Requirements:
Data Quality Management skills
Publishing industry experience
Organizational, project management, and analytical skills required to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks, and manage data quality.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, customer service and communication skills required.
The ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, along with the ability to work independently, are required.
Good business acumen necessary.
He or she must be a technologically savvy worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges.
Should have proficiency in all aspects of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word Documents and Excel. Power Point would be a plus.
Strong e-mail communication skills and etiquette needed to communicate with other departments.
Knowledge of Siebel, Oracle & Google packages and image processing will be a plus.
