Position Description / Description of Duties:
Client says:
Currently we have an AS400 systems administrator who maintains the AS400 server and AS400 developers who maintain the DB2 tables & data. However, we have never had a person performing the DBA function in that environment (the gap between the two This position will ensure the future performance and success of our AS400 DB2 environment. They will help us identify what we aren’t currently performing in our DB2 environment that we should be doing…

Role:
The DB2 DBA will perform a general assessment on our production AS400 environment with an emphasis on database performance. They will provide a report of their findings along with remediation recommendations. A follow-up engagement will be to either perform the remediation themselves or provide training to internal staff.

Measurement & Work Environment:
The resource will perform routine check in meetings with management and provide a verbal status report of their findings before finally presenting a formal report. Any remediation work performed will be track individually.
