Title: Systems solutions Engineer
Location: Hopewell, NJ 08534
Duration: 6+ months contract

This is a Systems solutions Engineer position. Critical skill is High Performance Computing.
Candidate should have experience in a High performance environment at the data center.
Client has a huge super computer and parts of it needs to be moved to the cloud.
This role will engineer and support AWS cloud and high density computing platform for research applications and implement leading edge technologies and best practices.

Role Responsibilities
Provide expertise and experience on new operating systems like Linux, CentOS & Ubuntu, other emerging operating systems. Cloud integration technologies is highly preferred.
Administer large scale automated scientific computing with a queuing system or through distributed systems. Integrate scheduling system with AWS-cloud.
Work with key clients in scientific research areas to deliver HPC services, system customization, performance tuning and optimization, proof-of-concept prototyping and deliver new capabilities.
Provide support to research computing infrastructure, involving servers, workstations, storage, applications and networking, as part of the team.

Must have:
3 years or more experience in managing commercial Linux systems. Red Hat Linux or CentOS is a must.
2 years or more experience using AWS cloud services. Knowledge of EC2 & S3 required. Familiarity with any RDS service preferred.
Experience in handling in remote administration for x86_64 servers.
Experience supporting NFS, CIFS active directory authentication, SCP, SFTP.
Experience supporting authentication and login protocols, LDAP, SSL, SSH.
Must be able to program in a shell language. Must be able to perform compilation/make tasks.
Experience with application servers such as Apache or other web server, Tomcat.

Preferred:
Working knowledge of configuring systems environment for databases.
Working knowledge of Backup technologies.
Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Vmware.
Good time management skills. Use of project management tools preferred. Familiarity with Agile principles a plus.

General:
Position is based in central jersey, Hopewell Site.
Some data center support work and vendor relationship management required
