Description:
Milling Machine Operator - Level 1 Sets up and operates a variety of horizontal or vertical milling machines to perform quantity production machining where machining methods and sequences are predetermined and established tooling provided. Performs a variety of operations such as drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, and slotting; cutting compound and/or multiple angles; radii, straddle, and gang milling; serrating; doing helical and spiral milling; and gear, spline, and key way cutting.
Determines, sets, and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depth of cut; interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; uses a variety of machinist''s hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
May be required to select, mount, and align various specialized machine attachments and standard tooling. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment. Work involves most of the following: examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs
Mandatory:
Experience with 3 or 5 axis CNC machining Machine Trade School Experience Ability to interpret and read blueprints
