Our client, one of the twelve regional Reserve banks in the Fed System, seeks an accomplished Linux Systems Administrator.


Description:
Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and program infrastructure applications not supported by system level IT organizations. Act as escalation point for the service request group.
Add, delete and change privileges for users in various applications as well as investigate and resolve user access issues.
Maintain scripts used for reporting, monitoring and analysis. Monitor and respond appropriately to outages and alerts, escalating issues as needed.
Work with system level IT organizations to maintain local enterprise hardware. Diagnose, resolve and document incidents in the Remedy system.
Plan, implement and document technical change requests using the Remedy system. Participate in district change management meetings.
Develop and maintain technical process and procedure documentation including contingency operations.
Implement necessary patches, hotfixes, service packs, cumulative updates, and upgrades to meet security compliance and maintain application integrity.
Research, document and implement new technology solutions. Ensure application availability by monitoring hardware and software capacity and function.
Work extended hours as necessary to maintain existing or implement new technology with minimal customer impact.
Participate in on-call rotation. Travel occasionally – up to 5% the time. Handle other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Proficient in one or more operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Solaris Unix, ESX and Apple OS X.
Bachelor''s degree or commensurate experience. 7-10 years relevant experience.
Proficient with administration and troubleshooting of complex infrastructure applications, such as IIS and Apache products.
Knowledge of enterprise computer system components, such as Storage Area Network, LAN/WAN, server hardware and virtual technologies, such as VMware ESX/vSphere.
Basic knowledge of one or more technology features, such as Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, file/share permissions, common Ports, DNS, DHCP and WINS.
Basic knowledge of relational and multidimensional database management systems, such as Informix, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle RDBMS and Oracle Essbase.
Working knowledge of scripting products, such as Unix and Linux shell scripts, Visual Basic Scripting, DOS / Windows command scripts, SQL scripts and PowerShell.
Basic knowledge of incident and change management systems, such as BMC Remedy and Atlassian JIRA.
Experience with enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and IBM Lotus Notes.
