IT Business Technology Partner

Major Purpose of the job:

The Business Technology Partner (BTP) will be charged with supporting and advocating on behalf of business units within IT. This will include, but not limited to, managing project request intake and supporting escalation on outstanding service requests.

The BTP team will also support the Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Management, IT Governance, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Change Management capabilities to ensure that all business needs, including future-oriented strategic developments, are balanced and prioritized to ensure maximum returns on investment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The ability to produce, articulate, implement and enhance business and technology strategic concepts, road maps, principles, and effective plans.

Deep mastery of utility business, data, and information service-oriented architectures.

Broad knowledge of business process including disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels.

Develop and guide the implementation of business aligned IT strategic plans

Understanding and knowledge of BPM (Business Process Management), EA frameworks such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), Zach man Framework or FEAF (The Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework), Reference Architecture such as data architecture, application architecture, infrastructure architecture, and cyber security architecture.

Knowledge and understanding of corporate policy and business strategy.

The ability to think laterally and constructively question established process.

The ability to identify and describe the relationship between artifacts. Artifacts are a description of a collection of entities that describe an enterprise. These entities include business functions, business process, organizational structure, business systems, computing capabilities and technical infrastructure.

Excellent high impact presentation skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline with 7 or more years of experience in IT and or equivalent work experience.

A graduate degree in IT related discipline is preferred. MBA would be a preferred credential.

7 or more years of experience is required in development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems across multiple hardware and software platforms

5 or more years of experience is required in utility business knowledge.

Significant experience and knowledge in architecting / designing and implementation of new technology with excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills required.
