z/OS System Programmer – USC ONLY – Security Clearance will be required

The responsibilities in this role is z/OS system programming proficient with doing z/OS installs. Candidate will need to be able to talk about terms like HDC and IODF. If you have this experience, YOU are a fit.
The Mainframe System Programmer will perform setup for client’s Disaster Recovery tests, with work such as interfacing with Hardware/Software Vendors, cable patching, ICC updates, DIRMAINT requests, Storage Definition, Brocade updates, and IODF updates. DRMSP will also run periodical tests to ensure that the recovery hardware and software works properly.
Maintain new/existing OS environments with FSU, SMP/E, and VM/SES. Configure hardware, peripherals, and software in accordance with client requirements.
Due to the large number of customers and their environments, candidates will use the following:
zVSE, zVM, and z/OS operating systems
IBM Mainframe CPU hardware, such as HMC, CFs, Crypto, and OSA
IBM tape and storage hardware, Oracle tape and storage hardware, EMC tape and storage hardware, HDC tape and storage hardware
Brocade Fiber Switch and Director Hardware, FICON , FC, and Copper/Fiber cabling and testing
General TCP/IP networking knowledge
Knowledge of backup/restore fundamentals
Knowledge of disaster recovery fundamentals
Knowledge of Global Mirror and SRDF fundamentals
Required Experience:
15+ years of z/OS System Programming in a Mainframe environment
10 years of experience supporting one or more of the following – zVSE, zVM, zOS
Experience including dump analysis, SMP/E, SMF, USS, MVS, and JES exits
Experience in the planning, customization, and installation of z/OS operating systems
Completed Bachelor’s degree is required
