Sr. Cassandra Administrator @ Denver, CO for 12+ Months contract - Onsite
Primary Skills: Cassandra Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Apache Cassandra database clusters
- Optimize and tune Cassandra database for performance
- Assist in managing other database platforms – Oracle, PostgreSQL
- Analyse data access patterns and identify hotspots and bottlenecks
- Design and review data models, and help developers plan high performing queries
- Define and establish best practices with Cassandra, including configuration, monitoring health and backups of the cluster
- Manage storage capacity of the cluster and help plan for growth
- Experience with Cassandra data modelling and CQL scripting
- Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues as needed, produce documentations, and share learning with peers
- Participate in on-call pager rotation for reactive support and respond to monitoring alerts in a timely manner
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies
