Responsibilities:
- Manual Testing:
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both new and existing software features.
- Conduct thorough functional, regression, and performance testing to identify and report defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and user scenarios.
- SQL Competency:
- Write complex SQL queries to perform data validation and verification.
- Analyze and manipulate data in relational databases to support testing activities.
- Work closely with developers and database administrators to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Automation Testing:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools.
- Execute and monitor automated test suites, analyze results, and report on test coverage.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to the overall automation strategy.
- Mortgage Industry Knowledge (Preferred):
- Familiarity with Mortgage industry processes and technologies.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and standards related to Mortgage applications.
- Defect Management:
- Document and track defects, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis on defects and provide detailed information for issue resolution.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure that issues are effectively closed.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with team members to provide updates on testing progress and challenges.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing input on test planning and strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in manual testing with a strong emphasis on SQL competency.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
