Residential energy advisor

DESCRIPTION
is responsible for thorough and accurate residential audits in accordance with program energy efficiency standards and client requirements.

Conduct full screening audits in residential homes, entering attics, basements and crawl spaces. Conduct visual checks of age and condition of HVAC equipment and ducts. Install compact fluorescent lamps, water conservation devices and programmable thermostat at no cost to the customer as defined by program.

Complete an energy use data collection form to capture home data and generate list of recommended retrofits. Track and enter all required program data in an accurate and timely manner. Provides proper and timely reporting of program progress

Interact with homeowners, answering questions regarding energy efficiency and recommend next steps.

Stays current on latest Program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and proposing ideas for improvement. Develops advanced technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science.



REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.

Prefer an Associate’s degree or higher in a related field

Prefer BPI, RESNET, or other energy auditor certification

5 - 7 years of experience in residential construction, energy conservation, HVAC, building diagnostics, air infiltration reduction and sidewall and attic insulation

Familiarity with computerized building energy modeling software such as REM/Rate, ResCheckand Home Check, Manual J, or other residential construction software required (may be acquired on the job)

Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, professionalism and reliability.

Math and computer skills required.

Must have the ability to utilize a tablet and mobile devices for assessments and communication.

Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and work under strict deadlines.

Ability to utilize basic hand and power tools, as well as climb ladders for access.

Able to work independently without direct supervision.
