Oracle DBA with Postgre SQL

Role: Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA
FTE or W2 Conract

Who are we looking for?

A candidate with 8+ years experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL Database Administration, Clustering, Database Migrations, Goldengate and AWS migration skills.

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience administering various multi-Terabyte, 24x7 uptime Oracle databases as a Systems/Infrastructure Database Administrator required.
• Solid experience working with Oracle versions and PostgreSQL performance tuning in a Linux environment.
• Strong experience in migrating multi-terabyte databases.
• Designing and managing PostgreSQL database schemas and experience in Security access controls.
• Strong knowledge of fault detection and resolution process.
• Strong experience in characterset migrations.
• Design and implement database migration strategies from on-premises to AWS platform.
• Optimize database performance and ensure high availability of databases on AWS.
• Implement and manage database security, including encryption and access controls.
• Ensure compliance with PostgreSQL and Oracle industry best practices for database management.
• Experience with all backups, recover and upgrading PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong, proven Oracle Database Performance Diagnostic skills (at both the SQL and system levels)
• Experience with features such as Clustering, Storage optimization, DR maintenance, monitoring and Golden Gate replication.
• Proficiency in installing and configuring complex database management system environments, creating and maintaining databases as well as backup and recovery.

Process Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to implement automated process to improve database system reliability.
• Skill at troubleshooting complex problems
• Background in IT infrastructure, including systems, storage, or network administration,
• Proficient development skills in a dynamic programming language such as Python and UNIX Shell Scripting. Also experience with Microservices is desirable. Experience of Ansible, Chef and Puppet are desirable.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile development methodology
• Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.

Qualification:

• Somebody who has at least 8+ years of work experience as Oracle DBA
• Education qualification: B.Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, M. Tech or equivalent technical degree from a reputed college
