FYI this is not a 3+ week engagement. A requisition request beyond 9/30/2017 could not be created. The intent is to have the resource onboard until at least the end of the project which would be through Spring 2018 at least.

Position Description:
PennDOT seeks a Business Analyst 3 to serve in the role of Data Business Analyst for the Inspections Project.
The Data Business Analyst works closely with the Inspections project manager, business analysts, data architects and applications developers. He/she will be primarily responsible for the mapping of data elements from the “as-is” to the “to-be” system, verifying proper conversion of data and communicating to the project team, business areas and management on the status of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Specific Duties:
Facilitate the conversion of data from flat mainframe IMS legacy data and manual spreadsheets to a relational model.
Facilitate meetings with business owners to capture requirements and business rules related to legacy data
Work directly with the data architect to provide documented, detailed data mapping logic from source to target
Account for every legacy field in the source files and address new fields in the target files
Analyze multiple data sources and identify solutions to populate target
Research data issues and identify data cleansing needs
Work closely with business owners to assign and monitor data cleansing needs
Document notes from data meetings
Address application questions related to data directly with application architects
Assist the Test Lead with identifying data to meet test conditions
