Job Details:
The Business Intelligence (BI) developer is responsible for building, implementing and supporting Microsoft BI solutions and integrating with other third party tool like BIRST. The right individual will possess experience in all stages of BI project work (requirements and logical design, physical design, implementation, testing and deployment The BI Developer should have a firm grasp of BI methodologies and will have had experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (SSAS Multidimensional, Tabular, DAX, MDX, SSIS, SSRS and Power BI) and BIRST Tool. To qualify for the BI Developer position, the candidate should possess the following:
Analysis and Communication Skills
Data gathering, research and analytical abilities so as to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs
Able to convert from SSAS Tabular to SSAS Multidimensional Cube
Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendations
Ability to provide product support and troubleshoot potential issues
The developer must have experience with the Microsoft BI stack and exposure to these other technologies is a plus (SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, Excel, etc
Team oriented with a collaborative approach and attitude
Solid experience with relational databases and multidimensional modeling
Specific technical skills desired include:
Data Warehouse / Solution Design
Dimensional Modeling
Analytics / OLAP Cube Development (Microsoft SSAS and MDX)
Specialized in DAX and MDX
Able to convert DAX into MDX and Vice Versa
Relational Database and SQL Language
Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) (Microsoft SSIS)
BA/BS degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or related field
5+ years Business Intelligence experience
5+ years of database design or integration experience with SQL Server databases
Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Power BI Report Development (Power BI and Microsoft SSRS)
Knowledge on BIRST tool
