iSeries DB2 DBA
Maryville, TN
Direct Hire
Responsibilities will include
Monitoring and maintaining system health and security
Designing data recovery processes
Establishing a disaster recovery protocol
Providing end-to-end technical support and problem resolution
Creating database management procedures
Evaluating data analysis models and procedures
Reviewing and debugging complex SQL and understanding the best ways to incorporate database requests into application programs
Implementing data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance
Capable of performing database change management
Implementing, administering, documenting, and maintaining policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database
Resolving database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues
Reviewing and making suggestions for indexes
Writing CL (Command Line) programs
Understanding of iSeries infrastructure
Understanding of field-level encryption
You will be able to apply your database administration skill sets in a maturing environment that provides opportunities to influence processes and gain experience in a variety of areas. These areas include:
Disaster Recovery,
High Availability,
System Optimizations,
Data modeling,
ETL
Data Warehousing

Requirements:

A Bachelor''s Degree in a related area, or equivalent of 5 years of experience in the field
Must be familiar with a variety of the field''s concepts, practices, and procedures
Combination of DBA and Developer knowledge and experience on the iSeries platform
Experience converting DDS to DDL and modernizing on the iSeries platform
Capable of relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Capable of performing a variety of complicated tasks
Ability to handle complex, multi-dimensional problems
Ability to use sound judgment in problem-solving
Ability to work unsupervised/independently
Ability to work in a team environment
