Seeking a Sr. Wireless Communications / Advanced Programs Engineer with significant experience in the design and implementation of various special communications, tagging, tracking, and locating solutions for the US DoD and Intelligence Community.
The candidate will support and lead system architecture design, technical research, product development, and business acquisition efforts, including proposals.
The ideal candidate brings a solid technical foundation and proven experience working with development engineering teams as well as direct customer interaction.
Qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of wireless telephone and satellite networking, link budgets, software defined radios, custom waveforms, and a full range of communications technologies.
Knowledge of Intelligence Community CONOPS, information assurance, and network operations is key to success in this role.
Candidate should have demonstrated capability in architecting and developing solutions that differentiate a company from competition, proven team leadership ability, and a demonstrated history of successfully supporting business pursuit efforts.
The successful candidate will identify and/or define customers'' emerging needs and develop Harris solutions to meet those needs. He/she will also identify and/or create new opportunities to apply Harris capability as well as lead or contribute to teams developing technical and cost proposals.
Full time position in Dulles, VA. Position may require up to 25% travel.
Qualifications:
15 years of related experience with a B.S. Degree in Engineering
12 years of related experience with a M.S. Degree in Engineering
Experience working with Business Development, Sales, and US Government customers.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Familiarity with current military hardware and software open architecture initiatives.
Familiarity with industry and technology trends in mobile and satellite communications.
Experience working in an agile or QRC environment to solve urgent and evolving customer requirements.
Credibility in communicating technical and business aspects to the customer.
Ability to work well with customers at both technical and executive levels. This includes being able to communicate system concepts to both highly Technical and non-technical customers.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with business development, program management, and customers.
Highly motivated self-starter that can operate with minimal oversight in diverse environments.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Security Clearance:
Requires active Top Secret security clearance. SCI preferred. Must be SCI eligible.
