SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining IT systems to ensure business requirements are met related to system availability, performance, functionality, security and standards. In addition to business requirements, IT systems are expected to be configured, managed, and controlled utilizing industry accepted practices under a common framework.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with various business units and management to gather requirements and understand business and system needs
Monitors and maintains an effective user experience on IT systems
Maintains inventory of IT assets (hardware and software) and performs routine audits
Performs and ensures backup and recovery of a variety of systems are successfully completed
Responsible for ensuring proper execution of testing processes prior to implementing production changes
Ensures policies, procedures, and standards are written and followed for effective IT Management
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and point of escalation for issues involving IT systems
Contributes to the technological evolution of IT systems
Automates repetitive manual processes to ensure systems operate efficiently
Provides technical support and participates in employee system training
Builds, configures, and manages components of externally and internally facing IT systems
Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves architectural, performance and operational problems impacting IT systems
Performs performance tuning; capacity planning and configuration management for IT systems
Performs other duties as assigned
Must be able to lift up to 40 Ibs
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years of experience in system administration and management. Experience handling competing priorities, organizing and managing work efforts along with providing support during non-business hours. Experience with Linux, Windows Server administration to include IIS, MS Exchange and, Active Directory integration. Experience with IT management and analysis tools. Stays aware of emerging technologies.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities. Must be proactive, detail-oriented and able to function under pressure in an independent environment. Must have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation and demonstrate the ability to drive results. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, strong relationship and collaborative skills, and excellent organizational skills.
