Title: Engineer 4 - Windows Systems Engineer –
Location: West Chester, PA (Boot Road)

Position Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for the support of production and non-production Windows servers from a systems administration perspective.
Major Duties:
Support existing server infrastructure in a 24x7 on-call capacity as part of a team rotation.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and OS problems (including performance tuning) and provide root cause analysis in a continual improvement model.
Respond to escalated incidents and provide Windows system administration subject matter expertise to resolve associated incidents.
Recommend and implement changes to existing Windows (hardware and OS) infrastructure including patches, users, drives, registry settings, etc.
Perform hardware and OS capacity planning for existing applications, providing recommendations to application owners and implementing solutions to allow for application and database expansion and performance.
Oversee key operational projects from a system administration perspective such as OS upgrades, storage array migrations, etc.
Master Comcast tools, procedures, and processes to become a self-sufficient member of the team.
Document operating and deployment procedures for other team members to follow.
Interact with infrastructure engineering team members to improve standards and support procedures.
Mentor other team members.
Communicate effectively with peer employees and senior management.
Perform assigned duties independently with moderate management oversight.
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Management, or equivalent work experience in Windows system administration.
Experience/Skills:
5-7 years’ experience as a Windows systems administrator with 24x7 on-call rotation responsibilities.
Expert in designing, deploying, administering, troubleshooting, and tuning Windows systems in a medium to large enterprise environment.
Expert in using Windows Active Directory, SCCM, DCM, and PowerShell.
Expert in administering Windows servers attached to enterprise-level storage arrays (EMC, Hitachi, HP, etc) including OS tools to administer drives, volumes, multipathing, and SAN luns.
Expert level knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite (e.g. ARP, IP, TCP, DNS, UDP, and SNMP) and associated OS tools (snoop, tcpdump, traceroute, etc
Expert with Dell and HP hardware.
Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in standalone and clustered modes with Microsoft Cluster.
Experience with VMware.
Experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.

Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.
Excellent oral/written communication and inter-personal skills.
Must Have Skills: - Microsoft SCCM, SCOM- Experience with SQL Server and MS Cluster from and SA perspective- Excellent powershell skills- Experience administering Windows servers attached to fibre-channel SAN- Experience building Windows servers using automated tools and VM
