Job Description :
Provide guidance and oversight on all technical aspects of Windows Server 2008 retirement, working closely with the client server engineering team
Work with application teams, along with CCO PM, to engage on planning, testing and deploying application upgrades; or retirement of applications no longer used
Assist client teams in creating change requests and deployment cutover plans for application upgrades
Work with team (server engineering lead, CCO architect and Information Security) to address any security issues for new servers, e.g. server settings out of baseline compliance or any vulnerabilities
Create and track requests for provisioning of new servers (for testing or production) , and work with application SMEs to install, configure and test the applications ; work with the client DBA team to address any database dependencies as part of app upgrades ; Manage or create technical checklists for application teams, alongside CCO resource and client Tech lead
Attend all project related meetings and provide regular updates to CCO PM on all in-progress application upgrades and 2008 server retirements;
Expected to be an onsite position
Skills / experiences – the ideal candidate has the following:
Knowledge and experience on Windows Server setup, configuration & troubleshooting - MCSE or similar experience on Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016
Knowledge and experience of Active Directory, Group Policy , DNS, authentication / authorization flows, TCP/IP networking
Knowledge and experience on: configuring web sites, web SSL with certificates, configure and work with SQL Server databases , DotNet framework based apps, SCCM 2012 or later; ability to assess application technical dependencies and plan accordingly
Must have a good working knowledge of Windows Server security remediation processes, knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g. Service Now) and ITIL processes incl. change management, release mgmt. and CMDB
Must have strong communication, organizational and analytic skills
Should be (nice to have) proficient with Powershell scripting, IPAM tools, VMware & Citrix environments etc.
