Job Summary

Integration and Performance Testing of ARRIS Wi-Fi Gateways including the development and execution of test strategies and test plans. The candidate must be able to understand customer requirements and possess the ability to create test cases for these requirements. Follow existing test plans and meet testing and release schedules. Work closely with other QA and software engineers to create, maintain and evolve test plans and automation to drive Wi-Fi testing. Actively participate in issue triage / troubleshooting.

Key Duties & Responsibilities (in decreasing Critical Emphasis order)

Work with the product managers, development engineers and management to define & document product functionality and requirements. Validate the use cases in the lab. Troubleshoot the issues identified during testing.

Debug issues found during lab testing and vendor testing,

Actively monitor the systems that are deployed in production environment. Interface with customers on product level issues, design details and problem identification and resolution. Clearly document the product resolutions.

Run automated test suites on daily basis and generate reports.

Lead the effort to take the initial builds of these products and put them together in a functioning system.

Ensure effective communications with direct reports, peers and management.

Supply written reports of status for projects assigned to the team to keep management informed of problems and project status.

Perform other duties as required.

Support platform maintenance in off hour windows periodically

Experience (type & duration)
5+ years of technical experience directly working with Wi-Fi / RF in computer architecture and data communications.

3+ years of experience in test software development in (e.g. Python scripting, LabVIEW and/or TestStand, etc

Skills
Experience with Wireless technology testing which includes Wireless AP’s, Routers, Wireless extenders & Wireless standards (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax)
Knowledge of real world wireless environments.
Experience working with TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, Switching.
Familiarity with industry standard Wi-Fi test tools like Veriwave WT-20/90, IXIA Chariot and packet debuggers like Wireshark, Omnipeek and Savius.
Experience in basic test automation using scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, Shell scripting or
Must be able to work independently
Strong background in designing or extending existing test frameworks
Experience running automation test harnesses
Excellent Debugging skills & experience troubleshooting
Working knowledge of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for analysis, and automation
Good understanding of SQA test methodologies, practices and concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently driving multiple projects across many teams
Demonstrated ability to own a complete functional area of an application or product
Good understanding of SQA methodologies & practices
Must be detail oriented

Working Conditions/Travel Requirements
Normal office and lab environments. Extensive travel to customer locations required.
