Job Description :
Role: WebSphere System Administrator
Location: Salem, OR


Job Responsibilities
Install and administer IBM WebSphere (ND) 8.5.5 and higher
Deploy fix packs and patches to WebSphere
Troubleshoot and resolve middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments
Perform deployment of custom applications and Commercial off the shelf (COTS) code/software
Install, configure, and administer middleware applications to ensure system and application availability based on project requirements
Develop scripts to automate system administration and monitoring activities
Develop procedures to monitor WebSphere components and provide recommendations for improving performance and operational efficiency of middleware components
Strong experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server administration and integration with webservers, LDAP, and security servers
Excellent understanding of clustering topologies and experienced in vertical and Horizontal Clustering.
Create automation script in both JACL and Jython scripting using wsadmin
Configure HTTP Server for various clustered application servers using virtual hosting and enabling SSL security
Train and mentor client and team members in WebSphere/System Administration

Requirements:
7+ years of J2EE Application Server administration experience in a large production environment using IBM WebSphere.
3-5 years of experience with Tivoli Directory Server/LDAP, IBM WebSphere Application Server, or equivalent technologies
3+ years of experience setting up and administering Apache Tomcat
Strong experience in tuning WebSphere tuning using Heap Analyzer, Thread Analyzer, Performance Tuning Toolkit (PTT), and IBM Java Health Center.
Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
Experience in Installation and Configuration of WebSphere Application server 7.x, 8.x, 9; IBM HTTP Server, and deployment manger on UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms
Experience upgrading from WAS 7.X to WAS 8.X
Hands on experience in securing administrative server using Authentication, Authorization, Single Sign on, LTPA, and User registry
Strong experience in analyzing, Troubleshooting Application/Web server errors and logs using Web Sphere Log Analyzer tool
Experience in troubleshooting and creating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working in a Windows environment is a plus
Experience working with IBM MQ and IBM Content Manager
