Job Description-Web Developer
The role is for a developer. This developer will be solely responsible for the design and creation of web pages and dashboards that aggregate and present a variety of different information about our software development process. They will have to automate the collection of this information from REST APIs, MySQL and oracle databases, LDAP servers, clearcase and end-user web forms. They will also be responsible for automating the generation of this information in some cases.
There are quite a few Jenkins jobs generating information in various forms, this information will be combined with information from the other services mentioned above to present various types of summaries for different types of user. New Jenkins jobs will also have to be created as we move automation deeper into our way of working but we can help with that aspect.
The candidate should have a background in web development with strong python skills for the backend and strong vanilla JavaScript skills for the frontend. The environment is a little unusual so a flexible and teachable attitude is a must. A commitment to simplicity is also needed because no one here is a web development expert so the more advanced technologies will not be sustainable for use here. Great communication skills are very valuable because of the very different technical background of the candidate and their co-workers.
