Job Title: Virtualization Engineer/VMware Network Admin
Client: General Land Office of Texas- GLO
Location: Austin, TX- Downtown- Prefer local or TX residents who can interview final round onsite
Job Type: Contract-to-hire- 3-6 months contract to conversion
Status: US Citizen Only or GC
Bill Rate on Contract: 50/hr on C2C or 1099
Salary: $70-90K upon conversion to FTE

Description:
Virtualization Engineer to support the infrastructure team. This team is their primary design, installation and support, focused on VMware servers, Cisco Infrastructure and Palo Alto Firewalls.

Some potential duties include:
Develop new VMware based services and solutions as well as supporting service needs.
Develop expertise with the existing systems.
Evaluate Commercial Off-the-Shelf Software products.
Support Business Analyst’s and other developers, and teammates.
Produce system documentation such as service desk handover documentation, system documentation, change requests, project and task updates, etc.
Communication and soft skills is critical.
Perform light project management activities to fit into overall project management efforts.
Be able to work with little supervision.

Required Skills:
Experience with VMware ESX administration
Experience with VMware NSX
Network Infrastructure including LAN/WAN and preferably Cisco technologies
Experience with vRealize suite
Experience using VMware environments in the cloud- i.e. AWS, VMware Cloud, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Administration
SAN Administration
Communication, problem solving and documentation writing

Preferred Skills:
VMware Certified Professional- for example, VCP6-DCV
Cisco CCNA certification or higher
ITIL Foundation certification
