Position: Scrum Master

Job Req Duration: 7.5 months, Contract-to-hire Must be GC or USC only
Start Date: ASAP
Job location: Downtown Dayton
Process: Local candidates/phone/in-person and open to Skype/WebEx…if candidate is 150 minles within the Dayton, OH area then they WILL get 1st preference.

Summary of Opportunity
Our client has an immediate need for a Scrum Master for a 7.5-month contract with our client in downtown Dayton. This individual will provide subject matter expertise for technical guidance, training and direction with a team of development professionals.

Skills and Experience Required:
Work with app dev teams
Healthcare experience highly preferred

Job Responsibilities:
1. Guide and coach the Scrum Team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and value
2. Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style and lead by example. Responsible to hold team accountable to the tenants of agile and working agreements including the use of appropriate tools, standards and best practices
3. Promote and demonstrate core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility
4. Empower the team to self-organize around achievement of their commitments
5. Identify and remove any impediments and distractions that interfere with the team’s ability to deliver against their commitments
6. Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practice where appropriate
7. Assist the team in tracking and communicating team progress and metrics
8. Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration and creativity
9. Assess the Agile/Scrum maturity of the team and organization. Coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
10. Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
11. Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
12. Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
13. Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information for better visibility
14. Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog
