Position Summary:
As a Consultant, you will provide customers technical leadership in the delivery and
management of VMware Horizon End User Computing and 3rd party solutions and services. You
will work directly with the client and other team members on the day-to-day tasks involved with
the implementation of the solution including: customer assessment, solution design,
implementation, configuration, testing, training, and troubleshooting/issues resolution. You will
also help to document configuration, administration, operational procedures. Iono offers the

Services include (but not limited to) virtualization/cloud infrastructure and management,
networking, security, storage, virtual desktop infrastructure, disaster recovery, operational
readiness and IT service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain confidence of colleagues and customers
Responsible for VMware Horizon Suite implementation, configuration, testing, training,
and troubleshooting/issues resolution, including all relevant 3rd party technical
components.
Lead end-user training efforts, including creation of user documentation and hands-on
training exercise(s), for both operational and technical users.
Establish clear, accurate project timelines and schedules; monitor progress against
schedule; build in and execute contingency plans as necessary.
Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during implementation.
Update and maintain project issues list, which includes prioritizing issues.
Actively seek out opportunities to teach others, coach team members to achieve higher
performance.
Work with cross functional teams to complete assignments
Maintain current knowledge of the VMware product line
Complete assigned tasks in a timely and effective manner
Provide daily and weekly status reports and time sheets
Help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and feed
them into our knowledge base for reuse
Requirements:
Current VMware Certified Professional certification required
5+ years relevant experience in a client facing or consulting role
Practical experience in design and implementation of VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon
View/Identity Manager/UEM/App Volumes, and VMware vCenter and vRealize
management based solutions (required
Experience with desktop virtualization Horizon View (required), Citrix desktop, and Altiris
(preferred
Experience with server configuration: Windows Server 2012R2/2012/2008, Linux forms
(Ubuntu, Fedora, Red Hat, OpenSUSE), Web server platforms (IIS, Apache)
Experience with coding a plus: PHP, ASP, .Net, C++, JavaScript/JQuery/AJAX,
XML/HTML, SQL
Experience with database configuration a plus: SQl Server
Experience with scripting languages a plus, particularly PowerShell
Understanding of mobile device communication and web application structure
VMware vSphere 6.x and VMware vCenter 6.x management based solutions
At least several years experience in infrastructure design, deployment, and operations
administration incorporating availability, manageability, security, performance, and
application requirements
Strong practical Windows and Linux systems administration skills
Technical and creative problem solving skills
Self-motivated
Ability to complete tasks with limited direction
Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
Understanding of computer server architectures, including storage (FC, iSCSI, NFS,
RAID), networking, security, and infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, AD, NTP)
Familiarity and experience with systems management concepts, IT service management
processes and standards
Understanding of modern IT production data center and service provider operations
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Should be able to interact effectively
with high level management and cross functional teams
B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
Ability to travel up to 70 percent of the time
