Job Description:
Our client is in the process of migrating its current primary Data Center to
the State IT Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment. Due to the
volume of systems, interdependencies, servers, and various locations
throughout the state, additional staff is needed to support the effort. The
team will ensure systems are set up following industry best practices to
ensure strategic initiatives and compliance with federal and state
regulatory laws and ensure business continuity.
These positions will be a part of the team responsible for the
implementation of this project. They will also be involved with supporting
the day-to-day operations of the Agency''s Server Hosting environment.
Candidates should be self-motivated, team-oriented, work under limited
supervision, and respond to priority tasks as needed.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in a team comprised of client and solution implementation staff
for Server Hosting related planning, designing, installation, configuration
and conversion of physical and virtual server environment for conversion to
IaaS. Will coordinate with Server Hosting Team Lead on the daily
assignments, tasks and coordinate and collaborate with contract staff as
well as existing Server Hosting staff. Ensure project and task timelines are
set, met, mitigate issues by resolving or proposing solution.
Will advise Staff on hardware configurations and implementations, work with
vendor and staff on deliverables, troubleshooting and conversion of current
environment from HyperV to VMWare.
Required Skills (rank in order of importance):
1. Experience with windows server.
2. Experience managing and supporting medium to large enterprise
environments utilizing Hyper-V.
3. Experience leading teams through conversion of P2V and V2V.
4. Experience with Powershell.
5. Experience with backup and DR in enterprise environment.
6. Experience managing medium to large enterprise implementation of VmWare
5.5 and higher utilizing vCenter.
7. Experience with technical documentation writing.
8. Experience with industry standard information security practices.
9. Experience in designing and implementing enterprise level systems
architectures
PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
1. Prefer experience with Microsoft HyperV
2. CITRIX Presentation Server or XenApp
3. GPO and PowerShell
4. Experience working with SC Department of Technology.
5. Dell Compellent SAN Administration.
6. Experience with security and data classification related to CDC, HIPAA,
and CJIS.
7. Ability to establish positive working relationships with technical staff,
customers and others involved in data-centric management.
8. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
9. Knowledge of Information Technology Field, best practices, organization
and operations
10. Ability to integrate technical systems with agency goals and objectives.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor''s or Master''s Degree in a relevant field of
work or equivalent work experience.
