VMWare Administrator

Skillsets:
Focus on supporting and maintaining all aspects of VMware administration including integration of storage, network and backup across all Windows and Linux Virtual Servers
Install, configure, and administrate virtual machines
Configure and administrate ESX and Virtual Center servers
vROps administration and performance monitoring analysis/reporting
Implement and support Cisco UCS and Dell hardware
Perform R & D activities and manage Infrastructure technical projects
Provide necessary performance related reports, including KPIs, as per request by the supervisory staff
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent. Minimum 7 consecutive years of VMware administration experience.
VCP or higher certification or equivalent
Specialized VMware administration skills with storage, network and backup integration
Experience with capacity planning and virtualization of different types of server roles, applications, and databases
Experience with performance monitoring, reporting, and analysis
Experience with installing and updating HBA, BIOS, and system firmware
Troubleshooting experience with hardware issues, and performing root cause analyses
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently, as well as in collaboration with a team
Programming and scripting experience, preferably in PowerShell
Good knowledge of server Operating Systems, including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and fine tuning OS
Ability to write and maintain technical documentation & procedures
Flexibility and willingness to work in shifts and weekends on need basis in close co-ordination with onsite and offshore team, as well as with end users across the globe, in a multi-vendor / service provider environment
Familiarity with the following are a plus: Backup systems using TSM TDP for VE / Knowledge on storage and Pure/EMC disk systems configuration.
