Job Description :
Resource needed for 6 month project to create a complex, business critical Visual Basic .NET/Oracle reporting application modeled after an existing legacy application.
Responsibilities include:
- Analysis of existing formulas and queries from the existing legacy application and legacy databases mappings for requirements.
- Create new VB.NET forms, programs, and reports using the latest Microsoft Visual Basic .NET programming language. Create new queries in Oracle based data warehouse.
- Testing, review and validation of outputs, documentation and user training. Transitioning application back to base support team.
Top 3 Required Skills/Experience
- Experience creating Visual Basic .NET web / windows applications required.
- 5+ years of experience in developing Microsoft Visual Basic .NET applications.
- 5+ years of experience working with Oracle databases as a VB application developer.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Five years with progressively more responsible experience in information technology systems, developing applications and programming techniques required.
- Microsoft Visual Studio and TOAD experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in planning and developing high risk and complex business applications required.
- Experience in developing and executing test scenarios/test case is required.
- Should have good analytical skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills required
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience working with BCBSM EDW data warehouse is preferred
- Knowledge of Healthcare Claims & Membership data is preferred
- Working experience with Agile development methodology is preferred.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor''s degree required with a major in computer science /information technology preferred
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer App Builder certification is preferred.
- Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer certification is preferred
