Job Title: PHP Developer
Location: Sunnyvale , CA Austin, TX Newark,CA
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
- 10+ years experience in web development using LAMP, HTML, CSS, Javascript(AngularJS, Node.js), Git
- Experience in PHP MVC frameworks, such as Symfony or CodeIgnitor
- Experience in relational databases, high-performance SQL; knowledge of NoSQL and Big Data trends is a big plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong commitment to developing high-quality, maintainable code to meet complex, changing requirements
- Willingness to learn new technologies and implement in short time
- Ability to brainstorm and communicate technology ideas and issues with peers and management
Expertise in sound software engineering principles
Experience with and awareness of modern Web frameworks, including Symfony2
Understanding of sound package management philosophies, including package management systems such as Composer, NPM, or Bower.
Knowledge of LAMP architecture using RPM-based operating systems, including the latest versions of PHP, MySQL, and REL.
Understanding of system and infrastructure design
Practical experience in evaluating and deploying enterprise solutions, both off-the-shelf and custom built.
Experience with RESTful principles.
Working expertise in git, including advanced git workflow techniques
Ability to translate vague business requirements into concrete code, services, or recommendations
Exposure to software development methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile; experience in hybrid implementations a plus
Ability to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities, and influence what those priorities should be.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Willingness to partner with peers to solve problems together
Ability to understand new technologies quickly and implement them in abbreviated timeframes
Knowledge of common design patterns in web development; i.e. MVC, MVVM, etc
Experience with ORMs, Doctrine2 preferred
Comfort in working with a multi-discipline, geographically-dispersed team.
Expertise in information security best practices
Strong grasp of developer best practices with emphasis on practical resolutions to shared challenges
