Job description

This individual will be part of an Office 365 rollout, so will be automating tests for the browsers, API’s, interfaces, etc. Selenium and Ruby/Cucumber are the testing tools they would like.
As an Automation Developer, you will be a motivated, self-starter who writes and executes automated tests. You will create and execute automated tests against a wide variety of interfaces (Browsers, API''s) based on the requirements. You will assist in triage efforts of existing automated test suites. You will follow established internal best practices and escalate issues or obstacles as they arise. You will work hand in hand with other DevOps team members to discuss test coverage and approaches.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the team to understand the current test automation strategy, approach, and framework
- Create and maintain automated test scenarios
- Create and execute positive and negative test cases, as well as test cases involving data input permutations
- Adhere to team priorities and work well in an integrated developer/tester environment
- Participates in backlog discussions, amigos meetings, and estimation sessions
- Provides input on automation estimation of stories
- Report and manage defects using a defect-tracking tool
- Report and communicate automated testing status

Must be highly motivated, result-oriented, and possess the ability to handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines concurrently with minimal supervision

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with hands-on automated testing using Ruby, preferably using the following or similar gems: WATiR/Selenium, HTTParty/net/RestClient, Inspec, Cucumber/Rspec
- 5+ years of experience with QA or testing
- Experience testing deployments into AWS a plus
- Preference given to automation experience on agile teams
- Agile software development experience a plus
- Experienced with source control tools such as Git
- Understanding of SOLID, DRY, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming, Clean Code, refactoring, source control, automated deployment and iterative development
- Strong understanding and experience of functional and requirements testing and QA methodologies
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

Education:
Undergraduate degree – 4 year Information Technology or CIS type degree strongly preferred
