Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: 6+ Months
Visa : GC EAD, GC, USC, TN Only
Interview : Phone/Skype but must be able to relocate



The catch for this position, is that they need candidates who have designed and operated MPLS at a Service Provider company, MEF (metro Ethernet forum), they need to have been working at a service provider company for at least 2 years, have experience with BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and if they have experience working in a lab that would be a huge plus!



About the Role:
Assists in the planning, implementation, identification and testing of network systems of high complexity. Designs, tests and establishes protocol compatibility standards, develops and implements network test methodologies and makes recommendations for improvement. Responsible for implementation of network architecture, design and testing in a lab environment.

Responsibilities:

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, and protocols into complete network configurations.
Evaluates new products, performs network testing to industry and company standards.
Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
Develops and implements approved methods of procedure.
Designs and establishes protocol compatibility standards, develops and implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement.
Works on projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and testing.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.


Qualifications:

7+ years in Network Engineering/Operations supporting Ethernet and IP based networks, architectures or designs in a high paced, dynamic Service Provider environment
Understanding of Ethernet and IP based networks and architectures in a carrier/service provider network.
Understanding and use of routing protocols, VPNs and Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Technical Specifications
Includes OSPF, ISIS, BGP, RSVP, MPLS, LDP
Experience in designing and operating a MPLS based service provider network.
Industry knowledge of Carrier Ethernet, MEF Standards and related product suites
Advanced data networking knowledge (OSI Model, QoS/CoS, MPLS, TCP/IP)
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI and MEF
Advanced knowledge of Switching, Routing, and Ethernet protocols
Advanced Knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
Advanced Knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances
Knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Education
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
CCIE preferred, CCNP required.
Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc)
