Title: Senior Business Analyst Insurance (Surety)
Duration: 6 months +
Location: New York City/ NY
Interview: Phone and F2F( Need candidates in NY or NJ)
Qualifications:
7+ years of business analysis or underwriting experience in Commercial Property & Casualty insurance, including General Liability, Inland Marine, Property, Auto, Workers Compensation, and Surety
Strong experience with policy administration solutions
Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter preferred.
Expert understanding of Commercial Lines products (e.g. Surety, WC, GL, Commercial Auto, Property) and underwriting processes, including risk selection, pricing, exposure recognition, application of controls, hazard group identification, and frequency and severity management
Exposure to insurance functions, including Claims, Premium Audit, and Loss Control
Experienced with business analysis methodologies; working knowledge of both SDLC & PMLC processes
Experience with business process analysis and improvement is helpful, but not required
Hands-on experience writing High-level Business requirements documents and user stories is preferred
Knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements
Experience operating and interfacing with business management, including negotiation and presentation skills
Proven track record of creating clear, concise deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of business needs and the out of the box software functionality
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Understands communication channels and escalates appropriately
Proficiency with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio) and other visualization tools is beneficial
Experience supervising small teams
Experience using standard project and business tools including, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint
Team player who works well with technical and business resources
B.A / B.S degree
Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) is a plus, but not required
CPCU Designation or advanced degree is a plus, but not required
