Description:
In addition to normal run and maintain functions, we are embarking on the evolution of the Health Exchange to facilitate a more efficient, modular, service oriented, rules based application design.

Additionally, we are building out a Data Mart to support various reports and queries based on the Health Exchange data.
Client is looking for an experienced Performance Engineering Team Lead to play a key role in these transformative projects.

Position Description:
As the Performance Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for being the evangelist / SME for system processing performance throughout the system development lifecycle.

You will participate in design discussions and code walk thrus with the development team.
You will work with the database, middleware, and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal configurations and help troubleshoot any performance issues.

You will gather, store and correlate key performance measurements of the application in order to uncover opportunities for continued improvement.
A primary responsibility will be creating, executing, and documenting performance test plans as part of each application release.

Requirements:
Lead 2-3 person performance engineering team and develop Performance Engineering plan
Provide input into infrastructure capacity planning.
Work with Applications Development, Database and Infrastructure teams to provide performance optimization insight into the application/system design process.

Establish proactive monitoring procedures for production processing in order to initiate a pattern for SLA compliance and continuous performance improvement
Assist in system troubleshooting and address performance issues throughout the development life cycle

Perform code reviews when appropriate
Develop application capacity models
Develop, execute, and document performance testing plans for each application release
Work with developers, DBA’s, and system administrators where necessary to address performance issues

When performance bottlenecks are encountered perform diagnostic analysis and make recommendations to development with regard to remediation
Show leadership and initiative in managing performance
Develop presentations for senior management

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field.
Fifteen (15) years of experience in the IT industry.
Nine (9) or more years of experience in performance engineering of very large, high volume, OLTP applications.

Experience leading Performance Engineering teams in high-volume a mission critical environment with strict performance SLA’s in at least two different environments

Experience with:
o DB2 LUW,
o WebSphere product family
o Loadrunner scripting
o Splunk
Strong knowledge of SOA and event driven architectures
Strong JAVA knowledge
Strong SQL tuning experience
Knowledge of analysis tools such as SAS, Access and Microsoft Office, including Project and Visio

Excellent presentation skills
Demonstrated team lead and planning experience.
