Length – 6 months
Location – McLean, VA
Job description
Data extraction project, extracting data from the legacy system (Sybase) and convert to files, eventually to cloud
Project should take 5-6 months at least, potential for extension but no FTE conversion
Looking for strong database experience, data conversion
ETL tools like Pentaho (will take similar tech experience), programming experience would be great, they don’t need full stack, but if that have it, great – PSQL and SQL would be preferred programming experience, but Java or C# would be helpful
Any AWS/Cloud experience would be helpful, but not required
Strongly prefers Sybase experience, will only take others
Cloud data conversion experience would be preferred.
Possibility for conversion? No.
Will need to be communicating with legacy system users, so needs fair communication skills.
Still building the team, right now is 12, will be built out to about 20; mostly focused in Northern Virginia
No educational requirements
No remote work option
Open to a candidate who’s willing to role on their own for the project.
Strong backend experience
Strong database experience and data conversion and extraction
AWS experience

Programming exp - SQL, Java,
A lot of communication skills - reaching out to people - interacting with team
ETL exp is great
Team size - 12 people - expect to grow to 20-25 people
Start with Phone Screen - then move to in person
