Patient Care Integration Developer
Location: Richfield, MN
Duration: 6+ months
Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE; Provide backfill support for the team which includes but not limited to the following:
Day call and troubleshooting interface issues
Document and communicate changes
Assist with the Cloverleaf Integration project
Assist with the Cloverleaf Upgrade project
Performs other duties as assigned
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide weekly status report to hiring manager/team lead by end of work week.
Stay within the budgeted hours per week
Identifies opportunities to leverage new technologies and improve processes
Partners with the business and others to gather and analyze complex business and technical requirements in order to produce efficient and effective interface solutions
Participates in project design walkthroughs; evaluating dependencies between applications,
Advising on alternative approaches and designing for effective interfaces
Completes code reviews to ensure development work adheres to standards and specifications;
Writes and revises system design documentation, support instructions and user guides
Completes comprehensive unit testing, contributes to the development of test scripts, responds to inquiries and resolves issues as the developed code moves through the testing process and into production
Provides mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members
Tracks and manages the migration of interface components across the Epic and Integration Engine environments
Proactively shares knowledge and collaborates to ensure quick and effective responses to customer needs
Maintains compliance to security requirements, including HIPAA, security protocols and access management; recognizing risks and engaging in alternative solution discussions to mitigate risks
Provides interface support; reviewing, triaging, troubleshooting and taking corrective action in response to production support issues
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills for process development, problem resolution and identification of an issue''s root cause
Demonstrated ability to translate high-level functional requirements into technical interface specifications
Experience working effectively in a collaborative team environment
Experience developing, testing and supporting interfaces within an integration engine such as Cloverleaf or within an EMR such as Epic using the HL7 and X12 healthcare EDI standards
Experience developing custom solutions using TCL, Unix scripting and/or Epic Cache
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience working across multiple environments, separating development and testing from production activities
Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA and information system security fundamentals and principals, including security protocols, encryption and access management
Strength with Microsoft office tools including Visio
Excellent communication skills in technical and non-technical vernacular
Demonstrated understanding of healthcare EDI messaging standards and message structure including HL7, X12 and XML, best practices and interface integration engine platforms and in building interfaces using a variety of connection protocols including web services
Skilled in common algorithms and data structures, database concepts and design, SQL and a data access language
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Cloverleaf certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Epic Bridges show proficiency
Experience within the Healthcare IT industry
Experience with a Unix platform is desirable, including the development of Unix scripts
