WINDOWS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

DUTIES
The person qualified for this position has previously installed, configured, operated and maintained hardware and software that uses the Windows operating system within a VMware ESXi production environment.

The Windows/VMware/VMware View Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining a heterogeneous environment consisting of servers running Windows, and VMware ESXi. Windows systems to be administered include Windows 7 through Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008 through 2016. O365 is a prominent part of the environment.

SKILLS
Degree preferred with 8+ year relevant experience
o MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure required
o VMWare VCP or VCA certification for VMWare 5 or 6
Knowledge of Windows for the desktop and Windows Server; Windows server troubleshooting skills in an internetworked Enterprise environment
Knowledge of O365 administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Azure
Familiarity with RedHat Linux or UNIX, desired
Experience with methodologies such as Agile and ITIL, desired
Expertise in SCCM including creating computer images, administering SCCM, configuring and retrieving SCCM reports and working with integrated Microsoft End Point Protection
Strong understanding of Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
Ability to analyze and automate existing processes and implement an automation framework
Experience with hardening operating systems and collaborating with cyber security area to continually improve the security posture of the infrastructure
Familiarity and has worked with vCenter 5.5 or higher
Previous experience installing and configuring VMware virtual machines in a production environment

DUTIES
Support Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 and related Active Directory infrastructure
Install, configure and manage VMware vSphere & VDI environment
Configure VMware Distributed Resource Scheduling, high availability and fault tolerance
Install, configure and manage VMware ESX hosts
Proven experience with successful enterprise server migrations/consolidations/upgrades
Maintain accurate documentation for all relevant support-related processes and procedures including, but not limited to, updating systems and application technical standards, installation notes, and support procedures
Install, configure and update hardware and software
Operate and maintain all integrated systems to support mission operations
Perform daily application updates and maintenance functions
Open trouble tickets and respond to trouble calls. Experience as tier 2/tier 3 support resource
Respond to management system alerts
Deploy monthly security patches and updates
Respond to after-hours trouble calls. Be available as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation
Participate as a member of a small, multi-disciplinary team that works cooperatively to ensure supported applications are available to support the customer mission
Develop system specifications and interfaces
Maintain accurate documentation for all relevant support-related processes and procedures

NOTE: This position provides Level 2 & 3 support, for a 24 x 7 production environment including supporting all operational and outage issues relating to the infrastructure. The selected individuals must be willing and able to work overtime/outside of normal schedule to restore the technical infrastructure to full functionality in the event of an unplanned outage.
