Job Description :
This role is for a project costing consultant who has between 5 to 10 years’ experience in a finance functional role with at least 3 to 5 years directly doing project financial reporting. Consulting experience preferred. Telecommunications industry experience preferred. Must have excellent writing and communication skills with experience working with stakeholders to gather project costing current and future state processes. The below provides a description of the project role.
Project Costing Resource – Skillsets / Capabilities
Location: Rosslyn, VA
Duration: 6 + Months
Document current state processes for tracking and reporting project costs, fixed assets, and 3rd party spend authorization / commitments (Requisitions and Purchase Orders) - e.g., process flows and supporting narratives
Develop long term processes to support annual budgets, actual and forecasted costs, accruals and Long Range Plans for telecom projects and programs. Provide project accounting expertise to support the accurate and timely capture of expense and capital projects (including accruals and fixed asset accounting)
Recommend operating model to support project financial reporting across the organization (e.g., roles / responsibilities)
Identify short and long term process and technology solutions to support project budgeting, financial forecasting, actual cost tracking, project authorization, fixed assets (including depreciation), work management, contracts, and material. Develop an implementation plan and manage integrated activities. In short term, identify and execute quick wins to improve project final reporting.
Manage project and program financial risks and opportunities and provide detailed analysis of variances to budget, quarterly plan, and month over month variance analysis.
