We have an immediate need for a Cyber Security Architect to support an important government customer in Alexandria, VA

Clearance Level (Required to Start) Public Trust

Key Role: As part of the Cyber Security and Privacy Services (CSPS) team, the Enterprise Architect is responsible for the strategic vision for the customer''s security posture. The candidate will determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platforms; identifying integration issues, and preparing cost estimates. The candidate will have a strong background within information security and security engineering, with hands-on experience of a diverse range of security technologies that include, but not are not limited to: firewalls, application firewalls, IPS/IDS, Wireless, Network Access Control(NAC), SSL and IPSEC VPN’s, DLP, SIEM, PKI/Strong Authentication, database technologies, load balancing, encryption technologies, mobility security, end user computing security, cloud security, network security, and OS vulnerability scanning tools and management. As a hands-on lead, the Cyber Security Architect will be expected to handle complex and detailed technical work necessary to establish and maintain a secure information systems security.

Position Description:
Assist in designing and supporting the overall security architecture of the enterprise systems environment
Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
Work closely with our CSPS Program Manager, Security Operations and Engineering Team Lead, and Oversight and Compliance Team Lead as an integral part of the CSPS Program leadership.
Provide defensive security services, specializing in the development and continuous tuning of components of the company’s defensive and detection infrastructure
Interface with customer''s operations team regularly to assist in operationalizing and integrating ongoing incident response and cyber intelligence outputs into necessary infrastructure/tools
Plan security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices; adhering to industry standards.
Verify security systems effectiveness by developing and implementing test scripts or utilizing enterprise security solutions
Maintain ongoing awareness of and continually review the continuous monitoring and protection of enterprise infrastructure and applications, solving identified problems/challenges identified as the result
Assist in implementation and maintaining of enterprise vulnerability management program
Prepare system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Assist in design, implementation and maintaining enterprise security event monitoring program and process
Facilitate the review and verification of new third-party vendors with respect to their information security policies and procedures, including administration of all global third party contracts which require security controls
Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Expectation of off-hours support, responsiveness and availability in response to security related incidents, material developments which could create risk to the Company, known threats etc.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent work experience
Minimum of eight years of information technology and/or information security experience in a corporate environment.
Prior experience with information security frameworks in relation to risk and third party reviews
Overall strong background in systems engineering, security engineering, architecting, enterprise integration, and interoperability in a complex systems environment
An in-depth understanding of capabilities deployed in security infrastructures
Knowledge of existing standards, frameworks, models, and methods for developing and implementing security architectures
Deep understanding of methodologies, architectures, and practices employed to design and implement information sharing environments for supporting organizational and inter-organization sharing of cybersecurity information
Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to independently author a wide range of technical documents
Strong interpersonal and collaborations skills working in a team-oriented environment
Ability to provide thought leadership to technical and managerial personnel including government executives and commercial contractors
Knowledge of existing strategies, policies, laws, and regulations related to cybersecurity.
Broad understanding of existing and emerging technical and nontechnical cybersecurity standards
Certifications:
CISSP and Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)
