Describe the project they will be working on: Flight Planning environment Stability, Learns the entire JHAS environment, supports the infrastructure, manages capacity, patching, performance tuning, monitoring and alerting. Needs to be proficient in HPUX, HPVM, Veritas VCS, Linux is a plus.
Size of the Team: 6-8 Plus a team lead
Job Description/Responsibilities: Unix Systems Administrator. Build and support on the HPUX operating system, understanding of application components as they run on HP and Linux. Manage storage capacity and understand VCS clustering for high-availability between systems. Able to improve performance and monitoring within the numerous components.
What are the Top 3-5 Skills needed to perform this role/job?: Knowledge of HPUX 11i.v31 OS, HPVM virtual systems and Itanium HP infrastructure, and Veritas VCS clustering for HA. Linux RHEL 7.x is a big plus, running in VMware 6.1 clusters. Understanding of attached storage like PURE and EMC arrays.
Top 3-5 Soft Skills for culture fit: Strong team skills working in an Agile / SAFe 4.0 methodology, knows how to plan work and deliver. Ability to create architectural diagrams and systems documentation for the systems and projects engaged in.
Type of background you are looking for (education, # yrs experience, etc: Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of systems administration including clustering technologies like Veritas (VCS Knowledge of storage as it is allocated from either PURE or EMC type arrays
