Job Description
This project serves to allow the Contractor to perform the following air pollution activities acting as a delegated agent of the Air Pollution Control Division (APCD):
Setup of two Unix or Linux computers to run weather forecasting and photochemical models in the most efficient manner.
Goal: To be able to support the Air Division’s work to create State Implementation Plans (SIPs) and provide the Modeling and Emissions Inventory Unit (MEIU) WRF output at a small enough scale to support atmospheric dispersion modeling use by industry to get Air Pollution Emission Notice (APEN) permits.
Objective: No later than the expiration date of this contract, have the two MEIU Unix computers configures and working as a cluster that is capable of running WRF, CAMx, CMAQ, and or WRF-Chem in the most efficient manner possible.
Primary Activity #1
The contractor shall work it MEIU Atmospheric Modeler Arthur Mizzi and Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology.
Sub-Activities #1
1. The Contactor shall identify hardware needed to connect the two MEIIU computers as a cluster.
2. The Contactor shall identify software needed to connect the two MEIU computers as a cluster.
3. The Contractor shall load the appropriate software and install hardware needed to have the two MEIU computers work as a cluster.
4. Have the MEIU Unix computers running so that the photochemical and WRF models are running as fast as possible on this hardware.
5. The MEIU computers can print on CDPHE’s printer.
6. The MEIU Atmospheric Modeler can remote into the computers.
7. As time allows help MEIU Atmospheric Modeler load various models and software.
Standards and
Requirements
1. Must work with the State’s deskside support staff to ensure the computers are setup so OIT staff can get access in to the Unix systems, for emergency purposes if needed.
2. Must work with the State’s security office to run CIS-CAT testing against box once it is setup. Security office will inform contractor of areas of concern, and on mitigating or granting exception for any potential variances.
