Job Description :
Project Scope
This is a Senior Unix Systems Administrator position, where this candidate will be supporting a new, 24-hour schedule the team recently adopted and serve as the first point-of-contact for the team during their work hours.
This can candidate will spend 50% of their time working in scripting and programming efforts for automation.
This role does not have a true On-Call component.

Responsibilities
This person will monitor their queue for high priority incidents.
This person will work on resolving issues or escalating incidents to another internal team, who serves as on-call, immediate support.
Candidates working out of the Baltimore, Bethesda, or Owings Mills locations will be required to travel to the different Data Centers to work with them on any needs they may have.

Required Skills
Solaris system administration (versions 10 and 11) experience (time worked in each version is 50/50 Proficiency in at least one version is required.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration (versions 6 and 7) experience
Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language from this list: Bourne Shell, Perl, C, C++, Java
Storage volume and file system administration experience (i.e. ZFS, Solaris LVM, RHEL LVM, and Veritas file system)
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to other locations
Ability and willingness to work extended hours or modified schedule for planned or emergency work

Preferred Skills
Ability to install and work with hardware.
Working knowledge of HP and Oracle/Sun server hardware
Veritas Cluster administration
Knowledge of Oracle engineered systems (Exadata, SuperCluster, and ZDLRA)
