- The IPC Cloud Software Development group is seeking a UX designer for its Murray Hill, NJ office to work with a distributed team of developers. Ideal candidate will be a creative, innovative, enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual who is passionate about design and web technology. The UX designer will be working with a team of engineers in a fast paced, Agile environment on the user experience aspects of scalable, cloud based, web applications targeted at the financial services industry.
Responsibilities
1. Work as part of a development team across a range of projects to ensure all designs meet or exceed the best in class in terms of look, feel, functionality and behavior
2. Work closely with product manager/architect in developing an overall content development strategy and with project manager to keep the projects on track.
3. Coordinate with the UI design team on issues like navigation, page design, multi-level layouts and more.
4. Develop mockups, wireframes and flow charts for our development team.
5. Track usability goals and conduct usability tests on independent page types on the websites.
6. Design/re-design/update websites as necessary.
Technical Skills
1. Excellent communication skills and ability to confidently pitch your ideas and solutions to a diverse group of disciplines in a geo-distributed team.
2. Familiarity and expertise with systems and coding languages such as Java, Javascript, HTML 5, CSS and XML/XSL.
3. Knowledge of programs like Creative Suite, Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator and willingness to learn unfamiliar packages as required.
Education/Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer design, development or engineering required.
2. 5 years of professional experience working in UX and graphic design for web base projects – please share portfolio showing off graphic design expertise and user experience design skill.
