UX Designer

Minimum of 8 years experience in IT and/or Financial Services systems and operations, including at least 5 years experience in UX design and UI and web application development and testing.

The individual in this role will need to have strong UX design and UI implementation skills but also a strong ability to think strategically as DTCC continues to expand on capabilities. Ability to help application development to translate designs and design standards into code and code standards. Working with central development team and project team to help drive implementation. Assist the design team to understand how to create designs that are simple to implement in code, and work with project teams who are building UI frameworks to incorporate into standard UI component libraries.

Absolute must haves : Strong experience with UX interactive design, and working knowledge of leading web-based technologies such as HTML, ES6, CSS, JavaScript, and UI frameworks such as Angularjs, Nodejs, Jquery and Backbone.

Best candidates will have the ability to use these skills to rapidly design and prototype working components and web pages.

Principal Responsibilities: The DTCC UX Architect will help grow the UX Design Center of Excellence (UX COE), focusing on UI client-side and server-side software design and development. Working with other UI design and development leads, the AD Frameworks team (ADF) and the UX Design team (UCD) DTCC’s UX consulting partners, the UI Architect will help guide the creation and evolution of DTCC’s UI design and development standards, and guide and support the implementation of these standards in reusable web frameworks, components, component libraries, and Production-quality UIs and web applications.

You will partner with a variety of business and IT execution teams throughout the DTCC to lead the design and build of development of highly usable web applications that promote superior user and client experiences and implement approved UX design and the implementation technical standards.

Primary relationships will be with other UX and UI designers, architects and developers; members of the IT Architecture team, the UX COE Core team, the UI Review Council team, the AD Frameworks team responsible for creating libraries of reusable UI components, and with a range of UX designers and web developers throughout the organization working on specific projects in particular DTCC businesses and product lines.

The UX Architect must possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex business processes into easy to understand language. This position requires working closely with the technical and governance functions, reviewing and interpreting functional requirements, designs and specifications, estimating costs and supporting rigid delivery schedules.

Design Skills: Expertise in UX design including especially interaction design, sketching, wireframing and prototyping tools such as Axure RP, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Visio, and Balsamiq Mockups.

Technology skills: Working knowledge of leading web-based technologies such as HTML, ES6, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and/or RESTful service APIs; major JS frameworks including for example AngularJS, JQuery, and Backbone; modern web browsers such as IE11, Edge, and Chrome; and the ability to use these skills to rapidly design and prototype working components and web pages.
