Job Description :
Position Description: The AppDynamics Monitoring Engineer will primarily work with AppDynamics tools to monitor application performance and availability for applications hosted in an on-premises Datacenter and AWS cloud. Provide meaningful insight into the application using application flow maps with transaction monitoring with the goal to avoid or minimize service interruption or performance issues.


The AppDynamics Monitoring Engineer will support the AppDynamics tools, and work with infrastructure and applications subject matter experts to define and configure the monitoring.
· Install and configure, upgrade several on-premises AppDynamics instances
· Make recommendations for AppDynamics sizing, product upgrades and new functionality
· Maintaining the security posture of the tools according to defined security standards
· Work with subject matter experts to define and configure transactions for real user and synthetic monitoring
· Gather dashboards requirements and configure dashboards for the Network Operation Center (NOC) and infrastructure and support groups
· Develop custom reports
· Assist with NOC process development
· Continually enhance and improve the monitoring

Monitoring tools:
· AppDynamics Server agents for Linux and Windows
· AppDynamics Application agents (java, .NET, PHP, Python, C++, NodeJS)
· AppDynamics End-User agents

Required knowledge of:
· Programming languages like: JAVA, Java Script, .NET, Node.js, PHP, C, C++, Ruby, VB Script, Batch, Script, Perl, HTML, XML
· Scripting: UNIX shell and Windows PowerShell
· Operating Systems: Windows and Linux
· Virtualization: VMware, Citrix VDI
· Databases – Hadoop, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc
· AWS cloud – EC2, ELB, etc.
