Test Planning-Tester
Duration: 4 months
Multiple Location: Dallas, TX/Seattle, WA / Denver, CO
Skills:
Test Planning
Integration Testing-System and Integration testing; Grey Box approach
Test Execution- Grey-box testing methods. Code Commit / Review Board/ Python / Typescript
Adaptability-Work with an in-flight project operating under tight timelines.
Organizational Skills-Ability to track multiple workstreams milestone and testing and integrate for Release testing
Requirements:
Responsibilities will include managing the creation and execution of functional and code testing for various software applications as part of a unified Hitachi Smart Energy Platform. QA testing needs are broken into three workstreams 1) IoT Edge devices 2) Facility Modelling applications 3) User interface and dashboards.
You will lead an off-shore QA team in functional testing and code review. You will be utilizing Jira test plans to ensure stories are tested and approved for functionality in Test Environments before being promoted to Production. You will leverage CodeCommitt and Review Board for you and your team to conduct manual code QA. You will be responsible for finding and documenting bugs and communicating issues back to the development team.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Development team and off-shore QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
With a team of QA Engineers execute test cases (manual at first) and analyze results
Create logs to document testing phases and defects
Report bugs and errors to development teams
Help troubleshoot issues
Conduct post-release testing
Work with cross functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Acceptance Criteria:
Qualifications
Adaptability: This is an in-flight project which has not had a formal QA process and is operating under tight timelines. The ability to be adaptable and to develop processes that work within project constraints is a must.
Strong communication skills. Able to communicate with people of diverse cultures, and in different time zones is a must
Prove experience as a QA tester for a large software development project
Experience in project management and QA methodology
Working knowledge of CodeCommitt / Review Board / AWS Services
Experience code testing in Python, Typescript, D3
Analytic mind with a “Can Do” attitude
Strong Organizational Skills
