Responsibilities include, but not limited to:


Strategy & Planning

Lead the development, establishment, and enforcement of quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
Ensure that software quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards, and accepted best practices.
Set vision for team in areas of test automation development, agile delivery
Create methodologies and processes for the collection and analysis of data for ensuring software, systems, and product quality.
Direct the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
Direct the analysis of documentation and technical specifications for any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
Communicates QA direction and vision and alignment to business objectives to management
Provide Architectural guidance on Test Automation design, development and maintenance

Acquisition & Deployment

Drive the selection and appropriate usage of automated test tools and data collection tools
Prepare business case for investments and planning for total cost of ownership for tools proposed

Operational Management

Develop and write test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems.
Apply established metrics to determine the readiness, quality, and operability of software, systems, and products due for release to clients and/or within the enterprise.
Create and communicate test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications; revise as needed.
Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation.
Coordinate testing of new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and executive management. Provide metrics on manual and automated test development, issues and trends
Create, enforce and monitor appropriate standards and quality procedures across the QA organization

Resource Management

Manage all members of the quality assurance team, and ensure that aggressive deadlines are met.
Train, coach, and mentor QA staff and other junior staff members.
Plan and conduct performance appraisals of QA staff, administer disciplinary action, raises, bonuses, and promotions when necessary.
Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices.
Ensure all team members have appropriate tools, training, and career development

Desired Education & Experience

10 years of experience in software QA plus a college degree in an IT related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as a team lead
Minimum 3 years of experience as a people manager
Experience in .NET/C# development
Demonstrated knowledge of Web technologies (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc, data formats (XML, JSON, YAML)
Demonstrated knowledge of APIs and appropriate test automation
Demonstrated knowledge of Selenium and other Test Automation frameworks
Demonstrated knowledge of Acceptance Driven Development (ATDD)
Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and Relational Database structures
